Install my decoder

Installing your TV decoder can be done in 3 to 4 simple steps.

We present these steps below, accompanied by an installation diagram:

Plug the decoder to your TV with the HDMI cable (into the HDMI port).
Plug the decoder to your modem (yellow port) with the network cable.
If needed, you can always use the port “Optical audio” to improve the sound quality by installing your equipment (such as a surround sound system)
Lastly, plug your TV decoder to the electrical socket using the power supply that was provided

To install your TV decoder, all you need to do is to follow the guide corresponding to your device.

Learn more about the menu

To access the homepage of your LOLTV, click the 'Menu' button on your remote control. Below, we present the various applications on the homepage:

TV guide:

The TV-Guide application allows you to access the TV program of the channel you are currently on.

Favorites:

The "Favorites" application allows you to rearrange the order of the channels accordingly.

To do this, click on 'Favorites' > 'Add List', and name your new list. Once created, you may add your favorite channels to it.

You may move or remove channels from the list on the right-hand section (you can switch sections by clicking on 'Menu').

The bottom-right section allows you to rename or erase the list.

Click the button to save.

Storage:

The storage allows for accessing files on the devices that you plug into your decoder (e.g. a USB stick).

Settings:

Settings allows for accessing decoder settings, and, in some cases, modify them (decoder version, language, buffer, Wi-Fi hotspot ...).

YouTube:

The YouTube app allows you to watch videos online.

When logging in for the first time, you will be asked if you want to install the app. Once installed, you can start watching videos on your TV easily and for free.

In case you have a YouTube account, select 'Sign in' and enter your login details.

Netflix:

The Netflix app allows you to access the content of your Netflix account.¹

When logging in for the first time, you will be asked if you want to install the app.

Activate the pointer by clicking on the button of your remote control, then point to 'Sign in' and validate by clicking on .

Then enter your credentials provided by Netflix. You will then be able to access all Netflix videos, depending on your subscription.

The large LOLTV remote control works with a pointer on the screen which you control by moving your wrist while holding the remote (in the same hand).

On the back, the remote control has a keyboard to help you navigate the menus.

Parental control

To configure the parental control on your LOLTV, go to the 'Settings' section and select 'User configurations'.

By default, the parental control PIN is 0000. We advise you to change your PIN code as soon as possible.

To set a parental control, follow the 5 steps described below:

Select the 'Change' button next to the 'Parental Control Code' setting.

A window will open, asking you to first enter the old PIN code and then enter a new one. Set your new PIN and confirm by clicking 'OK'.

Attention: Note that once the PIN code is encoded, it is kept in memory for 1 minute.

You may change your PIN at any time in the 'User settings' section.

You can now lock TV channels. To do this, go to 'User Configurations' > 'Block channels'. If the PIN code is no longer in memory, you must enter it again.

Another window will open, where you can select the channels you want to lock. Go to the TV channel in question and press the 'OK' button. The padlock symbol appears on the locked chain.

Once you have made the changes, press the 'Back' button on the remote control to save.

Parental control is now set up! To access a locked TV channel, press the 'OK' button and enter the parental code.

Settings

The 'Settings' section contains all the configuration menus needed to customize the settings of your LOLTV. See the 3 configuration topics below:

1. User Configurations

Under 'Settings' > 'User Settings", you can change the following settings:

Administrator Code: Set up your administrator code (required for the wireless hotspot).
Language: The languages available for the menus are German, French, English, Portuguese and Luxembourgish.
Sound menu: Activate or deactivate the sound menu.
Parental control Code: Change the Parental Control.
Locked channels: Select the TV channels to lock.

2. Device

Under 'Settings' > 'Device', you should see the following settings:

Version: The latest version is displayed. If the text is red, a new update is available.
Update available: Press the button to download the latest update.
Info: You can check the last changes made on the TV after the update.
IP: Your IP address is displayed.
MAC: Your MAC address is displayed.

3. Wireless

Your TV decoder can act as a wireless hotspot and allow you to connect to the wireless Internet. Under the 'Wireless' section, the 'ON / OFF' button allows you to enable or disable the wireless connection

To activate your wireless access, follow the 3 steps described below:

Then click 'Change' to set the wireless hotspot password. A window opens, asking you to insert your Admin key. Enter it, then confirm.
Another window will open asking you to set the Wi-Fi hotspot password. Define your Wi-Fi key, consisting of 8 characters minimum.

The TV has no signal

Often, a reboot of your equipment is enough to make your device work again. If the Internet does not work either, refer to this section. If not, perform these basic checks:

Have you restarted your decoder (unplugging and then reconnecting the power supply)?
Have you verified if your Minix is up to date?
Are your TV cables properly plugged in?
Do you have new batteries in the remote?
Is a cable defected or not connected correctly?
Have you selected the correct source (ex. AV1, HDMI2… etc.) in your television?
Check if the electrical outlet is working proprely (for example by plugging in a lamp).

Please note

If the Minix decoder is powered on,
a blue LED should be visible on the front panel (except the Minix Mini).

Poor image quality

In case image quality is unsatisfactory, please check the following possibilities:

HDMI cable is either damaged or not properly plugged in	Make sure the HDMI cable is in good condition and properly plugged in.
Disruptions related to one of the devices connected to the modem	Disconnect all devices connected to the modem and then test again by only reconnected the TV decoder.
Disturbances related to PLC usage *	Disconnect the PLC and connect the TV decoder directly to the modem using an Ethernet cable

We recommend you to also follow the basic instructions related to the TV.

*PLC: Power Line Communication

This device allows data to be exchanged through an electrical grid using specific adapters, thus avoiding wiring between rooms. More information here.
The use of PLC can sometimes be a source of instabilities and disrupt the television connection.
The Ethernet cable remains the most efficient way (both in terms of speed and stability) to connect your TV decoder to your modem.

My decoder seems out of order

First of all, check if your devices are correctly powered on. To do so, start by checking the condition of the electrical outlet.

Try plugging another device into the same outlet, such as a lamp.
Try connecting the modem to another outlet.
Try removing any extension or power strip that might be defective.

After each step verify if the problem persists

Please note

If the Minix TV decoder has an electrical connection, a blue dot on the front (except the Minix Mini)

Press the 'Power' button on the Minix TV decoder to turn it on. The Minix mini doesnt have a Power button, it will automatically turn on.

My remote doesn't work

If the remote control is not working, please check the following possibilities:

Battery is dead	Replace with new batteries and test again
The decoder doesn't receive a signal	When using the remote control, make sure you are directly in front of the decoder. Also make sure nothing is obstructing the infrared sensor.

If the problem persists, your remote control might be defective. We recommend you pass by our shop for testing and if needed we will replace it.
The new remote will not be billed if it is still under guarantee and that you are not responsible for the damages.

Important

Be sure to respect the direction of the batteries and to avoid using rechargeable batteries.
